Title: Senior Software Engineer, Platform, Apex, Languages
Location: San Francisco, CA/Seattle, WA.

As engineers we have an appreciation for tools that we’d want to use; in this position, you’ll have an opportunity to build those tools and influence how developers can code on our platform. Our goal is to make our customers visibly thrilled with each new feature that we release. And we have fun doing this - team dinners, lunches, and events.We are working with Java, PL/SQL, and XML with some HTML thrown in. We think in scale: when you have over a billion transactions a day, a “one in a million” chance happens a thousand times a day. We value meaningful design, clean code, and high performance architecture. Occasionally we break things - and that’s fine. We learn from it.


What you’ll do

  • Work in the deepest core aspects of Salesforce, allowing our customers to customize the way they manage data
  • ​Make bold decisions to move our systems forward
  • Collaborate closely with other engineers to create solid, robust code
  • Work with product manager to brainstorm and create products that are loved by our customers
  • Advocate for new and better ways we should develop, and discover and implement new best practices for the development organization
  • Build libraries that are used by thousands of developers (and will stand the test of time)
What do you need to bring to Salesforce?
  • You love clean code and robust design
  • You value and take responsibility for the quality of your features, including writing your own unit tests and reviewing your teammates’ code
  • Command of Java, C#, or C++ in a production environment, with an understanding of modern object oriented programming techniques, design patterns, and CS fundamentals
  • Keen nose for bad code smells
  • Motivated and assertive in learning and helping your team be successful
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills  
  • You should have 4+ years of professional experience, or a B.S. in a relevant academic field and 2+ years of professional experience.
