The Salesforce IT Enterprise Integration team is seeking a Enterprise Integration Development Lead to guide contingent team members in developing, testing and deploying integration solutions on our best-of-cl­­ass integration platform that supports our company’s internal operations.
 
As an Enterprise Integration Development Lead, you will be responsible for guiding multiple contingent developers to meet the objectives of your integration project assignments. You and your team members will be responsible for producing sustainable, reusable, well-tested code that meets our internal software development standards using the Agile methodology to deliver on project commitments. You must effectively manage the engineering function for your assigned projects to ensure the successful delivery to production. As a development lead, you must use your technical knowledge and your interpersonal skills to deliver elegant technical solutions while fostering strong working relationships with team members and internal business partners to effectively manage priorities, coordinate efforts, manage capacity, measure delivery health, and ensure success of your projects.
 
This role requires that you lead your project team members through all phases of the development lifecycle. The ideal candidate must have the ability to coordinate the development activities and tasks for a geographically dispersed workforce, as well as provide hands-on coding assistance in times of need. You will partner with the team’s solution architect to define the overall technical design, hire and on-board contingent developers, provide day-to-day implementation guidance, perform code reviews, create deployment runlists and transfer knowledge to support staff members. You must have a solid programming background using Mule, Java, XSLT, and XPath in order to deliver solutions in our environment. You must be able to understand problems quickly in order to determine options and the correct course of action for your technical solutions. You will also be required to mentor peers and junior team members to share knowledge and increase the competency of the team.
 
To be successful at this position, you must be a self-starter with the ability to take ownership, work under pressure, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously while keeping a good sense of humor. You must possess good oral and written documentation skills and be able to collaborate effectively with other team members is geographically dispersed locations.
 
Responsibilities
  • Oversee one or more contingent developers to ensure development and testing standards are being met and project work is progressing to meet project timelines.
  • Possess advanced technical competency in Mule Anypoint, Java, XML, XSLT and XPath to perform code reviews
  • Ensure solutions are well crafted for a secure, reliable, high performing, and highly-available experience for end users
  • Proposes recommendation for design decisions that have significant impact to timeline, scope and budget to upper management
  • Confidently collaborate with team members and upper management to develop the best possible solution
  • Prepare needed documentation and present in required design or architecture review meetings
  • Work with various IT Project Managers across the organization on all project planning efforts
  • Establish clear goals, objectives and priorities that align with the Product Owners roadmap and release plan
  • Work with Agile methodologies like Extreme Programming, Scrum, Kanban, and Lean
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with team members clearly and precisely, verbally and written within the Agile@Salesforce framework to meet sprint planning objectives
  • Cultivate highly effective relationships with internal business partners such as product management, technical leads, systems operations, and service and support.
  • Mentor AMTS, MTS and peers that are less experienced or less knowledgeable to increase their skills or knowledge, and ultimately their effectiveness on the team
  • Present and communicate complex ideas and features to a broad audience effectively
  • Independently perform interviews to determine hiring recommendations based on technical competency and delivery effectiveness
           
Required Skills:
  • 10 years experience programming with Java
  • 10 years experience writing & running JUnit tests
  • 5 years experience working with XPath expressions & functions
  • 5 years experience working with XSL/T
  • 5 years experience Mule Anypoint/ESB (Enterprise Service Bus) platform
  • Deep understanding of SOA design principles and best practices
  • Experience with Continuous Delivery pipelines for SDLC
  • Experience with publish & subscribe design models
  • Expert using GitHub, Jenkins, and Nexus technologies
  • Excellent verbal and written technical documentation skills
  • Experience developing in an Agile software development environment
  • Experience working with a geographically dispersed workforce
  • Experience mentoring peers and junior team members
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented and organized
  • Willingness to learn and master unfamiliar technologies and/or concepts
  • Excellent verbal and written technical documentation skills
 
Desired Skills:
  • Experience using Salesforce and Workday Web Service APIs
  • Experience working as a ScrumMaster
  • Experience with publish & subscribe integration design model
