Lead Software Engineer, Web Security - R&D Security Team

As a member of the R&D Security team, you will get a chance to work in an environment that’s big on innovation, not on paperwork.

We are looking for a backend software engineer with a strong track record of building high-quality web application frameworks. You should have a passion for using good software engineering practices in an agile environment. Ideally, you have an interest in learning about current web vulnerabilities and a strong desire to implement solid protections for those vulnerabilities.

You will be responsible for building enterprise-scale security features that directly impact our customers. You will learn to think like an attacker, engineering framework level solutions that scale and perform in our multi-tenant environment. Some of the cutting edge techniques we are working on include actively detecting vulnerabilities, securing web service callouts made by customer code running on our platform, and virtually patching live security holes immediately. Successful candidates will possess a healthy dose of initiative and will be flexible in adapting to the changing threats arising in the cloud arena.

Required Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Java and Object-Oriented Programming

  • Commitment to good Software Engineering: Automated Testing, Documentation, Code reviews, etc.

  • 3+ years of software development experience

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with the OWASP Top Ten

  • Protecting web applications against common web exploits such as CSRF, XSS, SQL injection, etc.

  • 1+ years of Application security related experience

  • Understanding of the HTTP protocol

  • Hands-on experience with JavaScript

  • Knowledge of SQL and understanding of relational database schema design

  • Familiarity with Agile development

  • Highly productive and self-motivated

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Enthusiasm for mentoring less-experienced developers
