Lead Software Engineer - Backend

We are seeking a Lead-level Back-End Software Developer to join our Engineering team here at Salesforce. We are the world’s #1 Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform. Our cloud-based applications for sales, service, marketing, community, commerce, IoT, Quip and Applications don’t require IT experts to set up or manage — simply log in and start connecting to customers in a whole new way! Your impact:

Our Engineering teams are responsible for the product end to end – including the APIs and UI for the features, security and performance aspects. As a Lead engineer on our team, you will collaborate with product managers and other top-notch software engineers to design and implement features for our platform that allows users to tailor any app or process, get innovation delivered automatically, integrate and connect anything, extend your CRM with prebuilt applications and build with trust and security. *In this role, you will also lead feature and architecture design with a major focus on performance, scalability and future expansion.

Basic Requirements:

  • Design, implement, test and ship features that can scale to millions of users

  • Write unit and functional automation to validate code quality

  • Have a passion for quality and writing clean, solid, readable code that scales and performs well

  • Adopt, embrace, and promote agile and test-driven practices with your peers

  • Value team excellence over individual productivity

  • Participate and promote architectural initiatives, balancing long-term velocity with short-term customer needs

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or its foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

  • *At least (8) years of software engineering experience

  • *At least 3 years of experience leading the architectural or technical direction of a team

  • Master of Java and experience developing and tuning highly available server-side applications

  • Deep understanding of Object Oriented Programming

  • Experience with developer tools like git, Maven and Eclipse IDE

  • Knowledge of SQL and of Oracle (or other database) internal

  • Self-motivator, who can work independently, able to learn quickly, meets deadlines and demonstrates problem-solving skills.

  • Effectively communicate technical information in a clear and concise manner.

  • Experience with agile development methodology
