Salesforce Commerce Cloud is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Test to work on our Digital Center team which is responsible for building the next generation of features for our industry leading cloud ecommerce platform.  This is an opportunity to work with smart colleagues to design test strategy and automation for our core ecommerce product.  Ideal candidates will have a background testing highly scalable web applications, will have spent considerable time testing at the API and UI levels and enjoy the complexities of the full stack.  In this role you will leverage your object oriented knowledge to test cutting edge applications which are changing ecommerce for major brands around the world.

Responsibilities:

  • Advocate for test priorities in daily scrum meetings and sprint planning
  • Configure and maintain production-like test environments
  • Design, maintain and execute manual and automated test cases for functional, API and end-to-end tests
  • Ensure comprehensive test coverage of unit tests (JUnit) and automated regression test suites
  • Participate in code reviews (Java)
  • Design and execute complex troubleshooting and debugging tasks
  • Report and track defects in the JIRA defect tracking system
  • Mentor and guide other members of our growing Quality Engineering team

 

Qualifications:

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience as a Test Engineer
  • 6+ years of full lifecycle testing for web-based applications, from requirements gathering to deployment
  • Proven experience planning, developing and collaborating on test automated test suites
  • Experience working with and testing REST APIs 
  • Ability to work within a multi-site / co-located multinational team
  • Solid knowledge of various QA methodologies including performance testing
  • Working knowledge of Java
  • Strong familiarity with testing Java applications, including code reviews
  • Demonstrated experience with the following tools and technologies:
    • RDMS systems, including ability write SQL queries as part of testing
    • JUNIT or similar unit testing tools
    • Automation tools such as Selenium, Silk, SOAP UI, etc
    • Linux/Unix, Ant, Maven, GIT
  • Ability to review complex software design specifications with a focus on testability, test automation and quality improvements
  • Passion for aligning quality goals to business goals
  • Proven success working collaboratively within cross-functional and intercultural teams based on strong team spirit, solid work ethic and good communication
  • BS or MS in Computer Science or Engineering (Master's preferred)

 Nice-to-have experience:

  • Designing and building automated test frameworks and tools
  • Agile development processes (Scrum, Kanban)
  • Open source technologies
  • Scripting technologies such as Javascript
