The Search organization is looking for an engineering manager who is passionate about building world-class UIs, search technologies, innovating by influencing features delivered, and growing careers.  

Job Duties:

As a Manager of Software Engineering, you will provide technical leadership to a team of software engineers. You and your team will be responsible for producing performant, scalable, reusable, well-tested UI code that delight our customers, while meeting our internal software development standards using the Agile@Salesforce methodology. You must effectively manage the engineering function for your team's projects to ensure the successful delivery to production, with continued service ownership.
The ideal candidate has a proven track record building and leading highly effective software delivery teams. This requires the use of your technical knowledge and interpersonal skills to mentor team members to increase their effectiveness, develop strong relationships, manage priorities and dependencies, and measure results. To be successful in this position, you must be a self-starter with the ability to take ownership, work under pressure, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously while keeping a good sense of humor.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Masters / Bachelors degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years of software development management experience with strong quality principles
  • 5+ years of object-oriented programming experience, building and delivering performant, highly scalable, reliable, and complex software systems
  • Experience managing and/or developing in the UI stack
  • Experience mentoring and growing careers
  • Strong communication, organization, and project management skills
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Developing and/or managing software under agile development methodologies, with scrum master experience being a plus
  • Experience managing and/or working with a geographically dispersed organization
  • Experience working with search technologies
NOT looking for Director level candidates.
Experience managing UI team is highly desired.
