Job Title: Senior Analyst, Technology Compliance

Locations: San Francisco, CA 

Role Description:

Salesforce is looking to hire a Senior Analyst to join our External Technology Compliance (ETC) teams located in our San Francisco HQ office. The External Technology Compliance team is responsible for the execution and facilitation of certification programs across the company that our customers depend on. This role will be heavily focused on evaluating technology controls, supporting audits for the company's certification programs, and acting as a compliance subject matter expert to the business. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a very fast-paced and constantly changing environment, to support a wide variety of assessments, including but not limited to SOC, PCI, HIPAA, HITRUST, FedRAMP and ISO. This position reports directly to the Manager of Technology Compliance - External Technology Compliance.

Job Functions:
  • Plan, coordinate and execute work assignments with process/control owners and external auditors
  • Perform controls testing, document results, and provide detailed updates to the Compliance management, and internal stakeholders
  • Assist in managing the timely and high-quality execution of certification programs
  • Assist process/control owners with the preparation and on-going maintenance of controls and control documentation (e.g., policies, procedures, narratives, and matrices)
  • Proactively identify gaps or conflicts in existing processes and work to develop solutions with internal business partners
  • Assist with remediation of control deficiencies and gaps identified during the audit process
  • Assist with the education and training of process/control owners so they better understand the technology controls framework and their responsibilities
  • Evaluate new and evolving certification programs.
  • Build strong relationships with business partners and facilitate continuous improvement aligned with operational processes
  • Effectively communicate program execution status, key accomplishments, and risks to senior management both within the compliance center and to our business partners
  • Convey Salesforce's strategy for compliance and control design to external 3rd parties
  • Partner with other leaders within the Technology Compliance team and the larger Compliance Center to collaborate and support both process maturity and staff development

  • Strong technical background with a good understanding of security concepts and practical usage
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the Company; demonstrating flexibility in approach
  • Analytical thinker with strong organizational skills; attention to detail is a must
  • Innovation and creativity are key qualifications, as this role will assist business and technical partners in designing scalable, sustainable approaches to satisfying our regulatory requirements
  • Prior experience in an audit, compliance and regulatory environment related to security and privacy including standards across industries and geographies such as PCI, ISO, SOC, HIPAA, HITRUST, FedRAMP is desired
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently with limited oversight/direction
  • Must have strong time management skills
  • Possess a "whatever it takes to get the job done" mentality (i.e., pick up the phone, stop by a desk)
  • Flexibility in daily hours (i.e., willingness to work longer hours during peak periods)
  • 5+ years of IT audit or security experience preferred
  • BS degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field required
  • Ability to travel up to 15% (US and Canada)
